A Family Business: Seasoned Del Taco Franchise Partner Opens Up the Opportunity to His Children

One individual who can speak to the support of the brand is Brent Veach. A seasoned restaurant operator who’s been in the system since 1999, Brent knows a thing or two about the value of Del Taco and its strong track record of success. Recently celebrating a milestone with the opening of his 50th overall Del Taco location, Brent opens up on another component of his legacy: his children.

“My wife and I aim to instill a strong work ethic in our children so that they can provide for their families and obtain a comfortable living,” says Brent, with his eldest son Craig now working with Del Taco full-time. “In the QSR business, you need to be passionate about it.”

Ultimately, Brent stresses to his children that it’s their choice when it comes to being involved with the family business. While never insisting that they join the ranks, Craig made the decision to come on board full-time in 2018 after working in the oil and gas industry for several years after college.

“Del Taco is a great brand with continuous growth, which is really neat to see and be a part of,” says Craig. Aiming to bring a fresh perspective to the family business, Craig delivers several years of experience as a Del Taco team leader and shift manager to his current role as an area director, as well as additional training experience with the corporate team.

“The leadership team within Del Taco is a strong selling point for me,” says Brent. “Our executive and senior groups are business-minded leaders who are focused on developing and improving a ‘One Team’ approach to our business. The company and franchise community work well together to continuously improve the brand. As a business owner, I greatly appreciate the company leadership team listening to the voice of franchise partners.”
